ABOUT US
In 1997, Linda and Brad Jones had a dream to create a Christian private school in the hope of establishing an educational institution in the White House community where children could reach their full potential academically, socially, and spiritually in a safe and loving Christian environment. They presented this vision to the eldership of the White House Church of Christ and White House Christian Academy began.
In 1997, Linda and Brad Jones had a dream to create a Christian Private school, which they named the White House Christian Academy. This educational institution was established in the hope of providing a place in the White House community where children could reach their full potential academically, socially, and spiritually in a safe and loving Christian environment.
When the grammar school opened, there were three teachers and one teacher assistant for grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Classes were held in a small educational building adjacent to the White House Church of Christ. The school used three classrooms for instruction and one classroom for library, computer, music, and an office. The library consisted of two book shelves filled with books donated by the teachers and the families of our students. The computer lab was equipped with only one computer that the students used one at a time.
White House Christian Academy has continued to grow. In the fall of 1998 there were 62 students enrolled and in the fall of 1999 there were 105 students enrolled. The school was equipped with a new facility in 1999 containing 13 classrooms, an office area, a library, and a computer lab.
The Growing Tree Preschool officially merged with WHCA in January of 2003. The preschool currently enrolls 120 students during the school year, under the leadership of Leann Henshaw.
WHCA graduated its first class of seniors in May 2005. The seniors all graduated with honors and were accepted into top universities. Dr. Richard Jones joined WHCA as Principal in 2007, and was recently appointed Superintendent, overseeing all functions from pre-school through 12th grade. He has brought a wealth of experience in public education and private Christian education.
God has truly blessed WHCA over the past eleven years with excellent, caring teachers and active, involved parents. We have added many extracurricular activities and athletic opportunities. We have seen tremendous spiritual growth in the instructors, students, and their families.
The Mission of WHCA is to serve students in a positive, nurturing environment that encourages, instructs, and inspires, transforming lives into the image of Christ.
The Core Values of WHCA are as follows:
White House Christian Academy, to bring honor and glory to God, embraces the ideals expressed in the Second Chapter of Acts:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
We believe that our instructors are not merely teachers, but apostles. In faith, these dedicated men and women bear witness to the life, death, resurrection, and saving power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We believe that our students are devoted to learning, to serving and sharing with one another, pursuing a life that leads to love, joy, and peace that can only be found through a daily Christian walk.
We believe that our parents understand and appreciate the safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment they choose for their children, and will make the sacrifices that are necessary to help them realize their full potential.
We believe that a diversity of individual ideas, knowledge and experience should be appreciated, but together we must be united in vision and purpose.
We believe that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.
We believe that our words and actions should bring glory to God, and that we are reflections of His goodness and grace.
We believe that we will grow, not by our own efforts, but through the blessings bestowed upon us by our Lord when we deny ourselves and follow Him.
We believe in miracles. At WHCA, they happen every day.
