What grade levels does WHCA offer?
WHCA offers kindergarten through twelfth grade.  (WHCA Preschool is also on campus.)

Is WHCA accredited?
Yes, we are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and with the National Christian School Association (NCSA).

Is WHCA a denimonational school?
No, WHCA is an interdenominational school.

What are the requirements for employment at WHCA?
Our classroom teachers are certified by the state of Tennessee with college degrees in their specialized fields of education.  Prerequisites for employment extend beyond simply meeting the experience and/or educational requirements of the position.  Our teachers must possess a loving Christian nature that expresses itself through interactions with students, colleagues, parents, and the public.  All employees must be Christians who accept the responsibility of being viewed as role models whose life and faith will contribute to drawing the students closer to God.

Do students take Bible classes?
Yes, each child will attend a Bible class and/or a chapel service every day.

What are the school day hours?
Our school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Is childcare available before and after school hours?
Yes, before and after-school care is available, beginning at 6:30 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m. 

Do WHCA students go on field trips?
Yes, there are educational field trips as well as parties and fun activities throughout the year.

Does WHCA have an athletic program?
Yes, our growing athletic program offers our students the opportunity to participate in sports such as basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, cross-country, and cheerleading.

Do students have the opportunity to work with computers in classrooms?
Yes, computer classes are taught in our computer lab, and computers are available in each classroom.

What type of lunch program is offered?
Delicious hot lunches are offered every day of the week or students may bring their lunches from home.  (Microwaves are available.)

Are there academic or service clubs in which students can take part?
Yes, we have academic/service clubs such as the National Beta Club, Student Council, Art Club, etc.

Do WHCA students wear uniforms?
WHCA elementary students wear uniforms.  Recently there has been considerable research on the benefits of mandatory uniforms.  Just a few of the many benefits include the following:  improvement in DISCIPLINE when students are in “learning” clothes rather than play clothes; more controlled SECURITY by identifiable dress; EQUALITY for all students. Our middle and high school students follow an educational dress code, which is outlined in the student handbook.

Does WHCA offer honors classes at the high school level?
Yes, many of our core classes can be taken for honors creditA dual credit program exists between Lipscomb University and WHCA, allowing students who meet certain requirements to receive both high school credit and university credit for a nominal fee.  Currently a senior at the high school who is enrolled in Honors English IV is eligible.
